407 Expansion

The 407 extension from Brock Road in Pickering to Harmony Road in Oshawa (22 km) by Spring 2016.  Once complete, the highway 407 East project will help relieve congestion and support the efficiant movement of people and goods through the easter Greater Toronto Area and beyond.  It will create opportunities for business, accomodate population and employment growth and provide emergency detour routes for Durham Region.

New Go Station - Downtown Oshawa

Ontario is making it easier for communters to use public transit by improving the Oshawa GO Station.  Construction started in August 2015 on the new Oshawa GO Station.  Then station will feature all of GO's customer and accessibility standards and will be jointly shared with both GO and VIA customers.  It is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, with an adjoining canopy to connect the building and the platforms, as well as modifications to improve the flow of people and vehicles in teh Kiss 'N Ride and parking lots.
